Luka-Kyrie Duo Struggles as Celtics Ground Mavs Bigs
Boston Celtics 7 Players with Multiple 3pt FGM in an NBA Finals Game
The Boston Celtics took a commanding 1-0 lead in the 2024 NBA Finals with a dominant 115-93 victory over the Dallas Mavericks in Game 1. The Celtics' depth proved to be too much for the Mavs, as seven Boston players hit multiple three-pointers, including four from Jayson Tatum.
Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving struggled for the Mavericks, combining for just 36 points on 13-of-37 shooting. The Celtics' defense also clamped down on the Mavs' big men, holding Kristaps Porzingis to just 14 points and Boban Marjanovic to 10 points.
The Celtics now have home-court advantage in the series and a chance to take a 2-0 lead when Game 2 tips off on Sunday night.
