Voter Registration
Ohio has a closed primary system, meaning that only registered members of a political party can vote in that party's primary election.
To register to vote in Ohio, you must be a U.S. citizen, at least 18 years old, and a resident of Ohio for at least 30 days.
You can register to vote online, by mail, or in person at your local board of elections.
Early Voting
Early voting in Ohio begins on the Tuesday before the election and ends on the Monday before the election.
You can early vote in person at your local board of elections or by mail.
To vote by mail, you must request a mail-in ballot from your local board of elections.
Election Day
Election Day in Ohio is on the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November.
Polls are open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Election Day.
You must bring a valid form of identification to vote on Election Day.
